Hello!
I was at Wheatley Park School once again - which is fantastic. The school, on the whole, is pretty good. I would ideally like to get full time here. Today I taught Maths (careful not to call it Math - I got called out on that today - "But Miss, isn't it called Maths?").
Overall, I had a pretty good day. A few challenges, but what is a good day without a few challenges? I was rewarded with my last class of the day though. I had a group of Year 7's that I had taught the previous week. It makes SUCH a difference when you can start to build a relationship with these kids. I noticed myself having more fun today, and shockingly in a Maths class - how weird is that!?
These lovely Year 7's need to work on their accent recognition perhaps more than their multiplication tables though. They still continued to ask me to say Australian phrases, such as "Good day mate'...I can't understand why they think Australian? Anyway, it was a good end to a good day!
Just to boast about myself - I received more praise today from the Cover Supervisor. It's very nice to hear, and I hope that all of the good things I am hearing turn into something more long term. The Cover Supervisor also said she had been discussing me with the Head Teacher (principal equivalent), and had good things to say! Very encouraging...makes the "tough days" worth it!
Anyway - I am beat - going to get some supper and relax (I have NO idea how you moms work all day and tend to your families! I have a hard enough time making my own dinner after being at the school all day!)
