Just a quick post to let you all know how my Thanksgiving Sunday was...
I had a nice "lie in" and did some grocery shopping in the early afternoon. Just another day really in Oxford. However, I came home to the hustle and bustle of Marcus in the kitchen, fullfilling his promise to me from the night prior - that he would make an apple pie and brownies (just like my mom does on Thanksgiving). Much to his girlfriend, Tess' shock, he fulfilled his promise! We had a lovely house dinner, made by Sam (the live in landlord), of fish, veggies and potatoes, followed by the amazing (but not better than Mama Parkin's) Apple Pie and Brownies (both made from scratch!).
Although I say the British are silly for not celebrating Thanksgiving, I actually had a great day celebrating my own little version of it, with the help of my roomies!
I also had another lovely chat with my family (minus Katharine) via Skype today. They were just getting ready to head to my Aunt's for lunch, so we had a nice chat, shared some laughs and off they went.
Anyway, unlike you lovely and lucky Canadians, we do not have a holiday Monday tomorrow. Off to bed I go, just incase I get lucky and have a call for work tomorrow morning!
Cheers!
