A Little of This....A Little of That

So this a random wrap up of all my thoughts for the week - I like to try and be organized in my blogging posts, but today is Friday and I feel like being random.

Cell Phones - okay MOBILE phones, as they are called over here (and EVERY time - without fail - if I say "put your cell phone away" I get laughs - "Miss just said CELL phone - hahahaha" - why that is so funny, I will never know. I don't laugh every time the Brits say "brilliant" or "rubbish" or "clever" or "messing about" or "you okay?" or "Hiya!" (c'mon - that just sounds like you going to do a karate chop on me or something)...so why must the little punks laugh when I say cell phone?), seems to be a never ending issue, no matter if it is a school in Canada, the US or the UK. They think they can trick me by using them under their scarves and under the desks, same with iPods...do they not realize A) I was tricking supply teachers less than 7 years ago and B) I am not dumb (although a student did tell me otherwise today).

My "accent" - I would really like to walk around with a sound recording of all the accents in the world - especially Australian, Irish, Caribbean, American and Canadian. One of the Year 9 (!!) students asked me, with a straight face, "Miss, are you Irish?". Is it just me, or are the youth of today in real trouble??

Anyway - enough of the venting. I did truly have a fabulous week - working all week felt so great. I returned to the same school 3 times this week, so I was able to build rapport with the students, which was such a cool process for me.

I have been cycling all week to and from work. Its great - and so efficient. I have been getting calls often at 9:00am this week, so it is much faster for me to cycle into work rather than walk or wait for a bus - plus it is great for my cardiovascular health! (Can you tell I am eager to teach some P.E?!).

I am SO glad it is Friday night, also known as Bon Fire night (or Guy Fawkes Night).

I am heading to Wallingford tomorrow to spend Saturday with my fab 'adopted' cousins.

Have a lovely weekend! Would like to say Happy Halloween Party to my aunties and cousins, who are celebrating our annual fam halloween sleepover party this weekend! - may MM haunt your night!
