Lesson Learned!

Okay, so I had a bit of a...well, I learned a lesson today - I was due for one anyway. Long story short, technology is both fabulous and very very wicked. Apparently there is this tool that schools (or anyone can use) online that will alert you when your school name is placed anywhere online. Due to my vent last night regarding the day I had, the school was able to read it. I got a call from my agency today, asking me in their proper, polite accents to take down my posting. They realized it was innocent and nothing was meant by it - unfortunately the school (which shall remain nameless - see I did in fact learn my lesson!) did not see it that way, by the sounds of it.

I was a bit embarrassed, but only for a second. After reading over the blog again, I realized that I did not specifically say anything bad about the school, mostly venting about kids today in general. I also felt as though it was a huge invasion on their part, as this blog is very personal for me. Anyway, I did learn a lesson - and unfortunately for the school (fortunately for me), I will not be gracing them with my presence anymore.

All is really well though, but just thought I would share you the reason for the little shake up in blog addresses. I feel a bit like I am serving in the army, and this blog is me writing a letter home, but I am unable to say exactly my location...

After that chat with my agency this morning, the phone rang again and it was work for today! Hurrah! I was at....a school, secondary - general cover. It was a good day - no matter how bad the worst class is, if I have a lovely group at the end of the day, it really makes up for everything else. I actually got to teach in this last class of the day because the teacher hadn't left any work specifically for them. It was really neat for me to plan a quick last minute lesson, and actually TEACH it to these kids, see their little minds think and the light bulbs go off when they finally understand what I am teaching them - always a great moment for me.

I have another booking tomorrow morning at....a school. Should be a good morning - 3 out of 3 so far for this week! Here's hoping I can make it 5 out of 5!
