The Royal Wedding Experience

So we decided that we would not even attempt to try and get a spot at the Mall or along the procession route on Friday - we instead made our way to the NEXT biggest party at Hyde Park. There were over 120,000 people there, so there was a great energy. We could hear the cheers from Buckingham Palace at times too - so that was neat!

It was quite a day! It was amazing that even though there were SO many people in the park, they were SO quiet during the ceremony. Lots and lots of cheering when the Prince's emerged, Kate and the Royal Family. The loudest cheers for saved for their beloved Queen though. I kept thinking how pleased Granny would have been with the Queen's outfit yesterday. She would have really enjoyed the wedding - I can only imagine what she would have said about all those hats!

Probably the COOLEST moment...and one you only would have experienced by being in London, was that as soon as William turned to look at Kate for the first time, the SUN broke through the overcast sky...no word of a lie! I remember everyone cheering and some being stunned at the coincidence. The weather could not have been better...it was like a choreographed dance.

I slept like a baby last night - sooo tired! As I am sure some of you in Canada were even more tired after getting up early AND going to work! Well done to those who pulled it off.

The day was a fairy tale for Kate and William...I hope they enjoyed it and got some time for themselves to take it all in. One of my favorite moments was when Kate walked out onto the balcony and saw all the people in the Mall. Her reaction was so candid and real.

I am enjoying the sunshine today and actually looking forward to getting some work. I am not cut out to be a housewife or stay at home "mom"...I would get WAY too restless. It has been 3 weeks since I last worked. Nice to have the time off to enjoy the weather and events in London...but COME ON already, bring on the work!
